On January 21st , 2025, the aviation industry gathered at ROMATSA headquarters for the “Learning Information Systems for Aviation” Workshop, organized by the @National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest, the @UNESCO Chair “Engineering for Society,” and ROMATSA SA.
This event, part of the AVIONIC Project (Creative Digital Teaching and Learning for Green Air Transport and Logistics), showcased innovative tools and strategies for sustainable aviation training.

- Presentations: The AVIONIC Learning Platform took center stage, featuring interactive courses, student evaluation tools, and engaging showcases like air transport operations and ergonomics, presented by Ioan Dragan, director general of Sim Soft, @Daniel Cruceanu,@Ana Simona Prica, Francois Marmier, @Adina Pavel, @Mihai Flaminzeanu, @Teodor Girnita
- Expert Panels: Insightful discussions on IT tools for aviation education and future challenges were led by distinguished panelists, including professor Ioan Stefan Sacala, vicerector of Politenica Bucharest, Cristian Paris (General Director, Menzies Aviation), professor Sorin Eugen Zaharia, Chairholder of UNESCO Chair of POLITEHNICA Bucharest, David Ciceo, General director of Cluj-Napoca International Airport, Cătălin Radu, General Director of Aviation of Kazakhstan professor, Rosa Maria Arnaldo and Francisco Perez Moreno from Universidad Politecnica de Madrid and Melania Jaravete, HR expert.
- Facility Tour: Participants explored ROMATSA’s cutting-edge air traffic management (ATM) systems, guided by Adrian Florea, Operational Director, and Cosmin Dumitrescu, Technical Director.
- Collaborative Brainstorming: The day closed with a forward-thinking discussion on the next decade’s challenges in aviation training, fostering valuable industry-academia collaborations.
This workshop wasn’t just about knowledge, it was about shaping the future. With networking opportunities and transformative insights, the event empowered participants to contribute to greener, smarter aviation solutions.
